Ceramics Cu is a collection of unique pieces crafted with ceramic, copper, and silica, using an innovative technique that merges traditional basketry and ceramics. At its heart lies the Ceramics Cu machine, a groundbreaking creation that allows precise control of copper weaving density and its progress within each vessel. Beyond its weaving prowess, the Ceramics Cu machine serves as an integral part of presenting the collection, orchestrating mesmerizing performances that bring the pieces to life. As an Independent Technical Director and Creative Engineer, I took on the responsibility of developing the Ceramics Cu machine for this project. Leading the design and construction of this exceptional machine, my goal was to ensure the seamless integration of technology with traditional craftsmanship. The ultimate aim was to harmoniously blend ancestral techniques with innovation, culminating in the birth of this extraordinary machine at the core of the Ceramics Cu endeavor.
